Business or Employer
There are various ways in which your business or workplace can get involved in National Spring Clean.
By joining in a litter pick, or donating equipment, refreshments or prizes to a group of litter pickers, businesses can support and build good relationships with their local community while demonstrating their environmental credentials. Taking part in a litter pick can also be a great team-building exercise for a group of employees or colleagues as they join forces and head out into the fresh air to make a positive and visible difference to the area.
If you represent a business or employer, please see the National Spring Clean Map of Events to see if there are any clean ups that you could support in your area, or you could Register your own event. If you prefer to support the campaign at a national level, please contact Keep Scotland Beautiful to discuss how you can help and you could feature on our Sponsors page.
Staff volunteers mean business
McDonalds aimed to involve staff from each of its Scottish stores in a litter pick as part of National Spring Clean. As a result 270 employees helped to clean up at 30 events. McDonalds estimates that between them they walked 420 miles to fill 390 refuse sacks with litter.
VisitScotland took part in the campaign when 10 members of staff got together to clean up the car park next to their headquarters in Leith, as part of their Sustainability Week. They were shocked to find 30 black bin bags had been filled with litter.
Keep Scotland Beautiful also runs an annual award scheme for businesses through its People and Places Programme, to reward good practice regarding improving waste management and the visual appearance of the local environment.
Tidy Business Standards has an additional focus on supporting the local community, which could include participation in National Spring Clean.
