Eco-Schools
Litter is the only mandatory topic in the Scottish Eco-Schools programme. Which means that every one of the 3,700 schools registered should already be working to reduce litter.
A Clean Up event is a fun and educational activity for schools, and naturally complements work on the Litter, Waste Minimisation and School Grounds topics - as well as providing a vaulable source of curricular links with Numeracy, ICT and Expressive Arts outcomes.
But why not take things a bit further and use your Clean Up to support work on other Eco-Schools topics. As part of this year's National Spring Clean, we’re asking volunteers to clean up and make a difference to their favourite place in Scotland.
So if you go take your Clean Up beyond the school gate why not look at how wildlife is affected by litter as part of the Biodiversity topic or team up with a school in another country as part of the Sustaining our World topic.
